Pharoah Sanders, who started to practice music at a young age by playing clarinet in churches, is now 75 years old and he became one of the most respectable jazz saxophonists in the US. Sanders, described by Ornette Coleman as probably the world’s best tenor saxophonists, received the name “Pharoah” during the period of The Sun Ra Arkestra, the first professional band in his music career. After The Sun Ra Arkestra, In 1965, he joined to the group of John Coltrane and reached his peak in avant-garde jazz. During the rather fruitful years with Coltrane, Sanders produced significant albums and began working on solo materials in order to trace himself a new route and to create a more elegant style in jazz music. With his playing style that he has developed throughout the years, he strengthened his place in the world of jazz music and released many albums that also won him Grammy award. Sanders, who is working with jazz legends such as Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, Don Cherry, Alice Coltrane, Tisziji Munoz and Kenny Garrett, is being invited to the important stages of the world like the “Melbourne International Jazz Festival”....
